Peter Boddy suspension lifted

The slaughterhouse was forced to suspend operations by the FSA on February 12 over allegations that meat from the slaughterhouse had been supplied to Welsh firm Farmbox Meats. Tests carried out in Wales which found equine DNA in beef products sparked the ‘horsemeat scandal’ across the UK and Europe as testing found further contamination.

The Food Standards Agency has said that the establishment will be “required to provide guarantees” to operate once again and that it “will not hesitate to withdraw its approval in the future if there is sufficient evidence of non compliance.”
